Cruises on the Hudson normally take place during the autumn months when the weather is warm and the fall leaves are on display.
Cruise from New York up the Hudson to Albany and follow the Erie Canal to its exit into Lake Erie. From there cross Lake Ontario and enter the St Lawrence Seaway to reach Montreal. The Hudson passes through New York and Kingston you enter the Erie Canal at Albany. From there you pass Amsterdam and Oswego on your way to Lake Ontario and the beautiful Thousand Islands.

Hudson River

The Hudson enters the sea at the Battery at the head of Upper New York Bay. Leaving New York it passes the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island before going under the George Washington Bridge and entering New York Dutch Country at the river's widest point. Higher up the Hudson River Valley offers rocky gorges cutting through the Appalachian Mountains and magnificent scenery ablaze with fall colours. It passes through Albany, Kingston and West Point on its course through New York State.

Erie Canal

The Erie Canal is a waterway in New York state that travels about 363 miles (584km) from Albany, New York, on the Hudson River to Buffalo, New York, at Lake Erie, completing a navigable water route from the Atlantic Ocean to the Great Lakes. Connecting waterways are the Champlain Canal, Oswego Canal, and Cayuga-Seneca Canal.

St Lawrence Seaway

St Lawrence Seaway is major development of the St Lawrence River between Canada and the United States that runs from Lake Ontario to Montreal, a distance of 183 miles allowing ocean-going vessels to navigate between the Great Lakes and the Atlantic Ocean.
